Diamonds and Pearls

No doubt, Queen Esther had both diamonds and pearls in her royal jewelry box.  So it is only fitting that God would provide Esther’s Urban Missionary Academy with our own brand of diamonds and pearls that are of even greater value than those of Queen Esther.

Diamonds

Our EUMA diamonds, just like those Mother Nature creates, have withstood some intense heat, endured some extreme pressures and had to go deep in order to become the object of light, reflection, transparency, illumination and beauty that God desired.   “Diamonds” is the name God has given us for our graduates and our graduate’s fellowship.  The fellowship has been established to provide our graduates with a source of support, accountability, encouragement and challenge in their future roles.  After graduation, the “Diamonds” primary function is to prepare for establishing her own specialized prayer/mentoring/discipleship group to serve women in her family, church, work place, neighborhood, city and beyond.

Pearls

The specialized prayer/mentoring/discipleship groups the Diamonds will establish are called "Pearls".  The human pearls God is sending us have gone through a similar process as the "natural pearl".  They are precious women whose lives, like the natural pearl, have been intruded upon or exposed to something foreign, uninvited or damaging.  Like the natural pearl, this negative intrusion or exposure to the sensitive inner places of the woman’s heart caused a protective reaction that encapsulates or covers up the hurt until it looks as if it is no longer there.  These human pearls make up a multitude of hurting and lost women who our "Diamonds" will string together in specialized prayer/mentoring/discipleship groups around the city.  Each of our "Diamonds" will function as the clasp (mentor) that will hold a strand of human "Pearls" together who have a common need for support.  These specialized prayer/mentoring/discipleship  circles will provide Prayer, Principles, Encouragement, Acceptance, Relationship, Love, Safety and Support for women who are hurting or lost.   Our vision is that each "Pearls" group will reproduce utilizing its own members.  We envision specialized "Pearls" groups springing up around Metro Atlanta to provide spiritual and emotional support for any specialized need a woman may have.

 Our "Pearls" initiatives began in January 2007.
